Can my five-year-old attend?2020-07-13T23:50:21+00:00

Our summer quests and regularly scheduled programs are not open to five year-olds, for various reasons:

  • Younger children often have difficulty understanding safety protocols while playing with our Swashers
  • There are issues of size that can make it difficult for younger (smaller) children to “compete” in swordplay with the older (larger) children
  • We find that children under six have a much shorter attention span, so the quest may not hold their interest for as long as it needs to and therefore they may distract the other children by becoming distant.
  • Our quest leaders base the questing challenges on age appropriateness and cognitive ability and can find it challenging to offer riddles and puzzles that can be solved by a significantly younger child.

We offer birthday parties for five-year olds, and can create special programs for your five-year old and their friends, as long as additional parents or other adults are there to assist the Quest Leader with safety. See Home Quest and Family Quest for more information

Can I request a particular Quest Leader for a quest or party?2020-07-13T23:48:56+00:00
Yes! Please make note of it on the registration form which Quest Leader inspires your children the most, and we’ll do our best to accommodate it. Note that it is never guaranteed that your child will be placed with the requested leader or friend.
Can a younger sibling/friend quest with an older sibling/friend?2020-07-13T23:27:21+00:00

We usually don’t allow younger children to quest with a group of older kids, but on occasion, an older sibling or friend can quest with a younger group. Requests must be made at least one week prior to the start of camp.

Can my Quester request to be in the same group as friends?2020-07-13T23:26:51+00:00

We make every effort to honor friend requests, but they are not guaranteed. Friend requests must be made at least one week prior to the start of camp and they must be mutual.

Can I pick up my child early?2020-07-13T23:16:40+00:00

While that’s certainly okay for occasional needs, we recommend that the child stay for the entire day and for the entire week that the quest is happening. Remember, Adventure Quest is an interactive story. Missing a few hours will mean that the Quester is out of the story for some time, missing out on crucial decisions! But then again, we all need to visit the doctor at some reasonable time of the day now and then…

Can I drop off my child early?2023-02-04T00:46:09+00:00

Until your child is signed in to our program, they are not under our supervision and we have no responsibility for them. Furthermore, all Questers are required to have an authorized adult sign them in and out every day unless the parent or guardian has given written permission otherwise (such as through the registration form).

In our Bellingham Summer Camps, we have extended day options including a Morning Sword Skirmish from 8:30 – 10:00 am, before our Adventure Quest and Star Quest programs (10:00 am – 3:00 pm). If you need to drop your child off early, we recommend they sign up for the Morning Sword Skirmish program. Register online.

Is your registration secure?2020-07-13T23:14:54+00:00

Yes! We take security very seriously and whether you register online or by phone we have policies and procedures to keep you credit card data safe.

Do you have before- or after-care?2023-02-04T00:48:29+00:00

In our Bellingham Summer Camps and Spring Break Camp, we have extended day options including a Morning Sword Skirmish (8:30 – 10:00 am), and an Afternoon Adventure Club (3:00 – 4:30 pm). See our Program Calendar for details.

These must be registered for just like any of our programs. Register online.

I have a balance due. How do I make a payment?2020-07-14T01:25:22+00:00
I have a credit in my account. How do I use it?2022-07-13T21:02:14+00:00

If you have a credit in your account, you may use it to pay for programming when registering online. If the credit is in the current season (for example if you cancelled a week of summer camp and wanted to enroll in another week that same summer), it will automatically be applied to your cart when you are adding new sessions, so when you go to check out you will see the remaining balance.

If you have credit remaining from a previous system, please contact the office so that we can transfer it into the current season.

The above applies when you are using your account credit to pay for any program that uses our online registration system.

You may also use your account credit for birthday partiescustom quests, and merchandise from our online store. To do so, please contact the office.

Can I register my child at the last minute (i.e. the weekend before a program begins)?2023-02-04T00:44:44+00:00

Online registration for each program closes at the beginning of the last business day before the program begins (this means 9:00 am Friday morning for most of our camps and weekend programs). While we do our best to accommodate last-minute registrations, we cannot guarantee that there will be space available. If you register for a program or decide to change into or out of a session after online registration has closed, there will be an additional $25 late registration fee applied to the price. Earlier registration is always encouraged as programs may fill up, or programs with low registration may be canceled.

To apply late for a program, you will still need to register online, but you will only see options that say “late registration inquiry.” Processing the application and paying is required to apply, and you will receive an automatically generated confirmation email, but you are not yet fully enrolled. To verify enrollment, please contact the office directly:

  • Call the Majestic Adventures office number (360) 836-0386 and speak to an office staff, or leave a detailed message with:
    • your child’s name and age
    • the location and type of program you want to register for
    • your name and contact information
  • and/or text us the same information to (360) 836-0386
  • and/or email us the same information to info@MajesticAdventures.net

We attempt to confirm with late registrants by the day before the program begins (Sunday for programs that start on a Monday), but if you do not receive a call or email from us, it does not mean you are either enrolled or denied.

Finally, for all late registrants, expect to spend at least 15 minutes at the site filling out paperwork on the first day. You may be required to do so even if you have already filled it electronically. For late registrants who have attended our programs before, please know that we may not have your child’s most recent character sheet at the first session of a program, but we will get it by the next one.

Can I change a session that my child is registered for? 2023-02-04T00:39:43+00:00

To change or cancel your registration, please contact us. You will not be able to do so from within the online registration system.

There is a $25 Session Change fee assessed per household per season, for all session changes, to help cover the cost of the extra admin work it takes to accommodate the changes.

See Change/Cancel My Registration for more details.

What is your cancellation & rescheduling policy?2023-02-04T00:37:18+00:00

Because we know that emergencies come up and illnesses occur, we do our best to accommodate these situations.

To change or cancel your registration, please contact us. You will not be able to do so from within the online registration system.

There is a $25 Cancelation fee assessed, to help cover the cost of the extra admin work it takes to accommodate the changes. In light of the COVID-19 Pandemic, if the cancelation is due to sickness or exposure to a transmissible disease, that fee may be waived. We consider each situation on a case-by-case basis.

See Change/Cancel My Registration for more details.

Do I need to buy your game book or foam swords to come to a program?2023-06-02T22:33:53+00:00

No, but they can be fun and helpful for the some Questers! We will provide all of the materials need to Quest, including the Swasher™ swords, and teach the Questers the rules of the game that are relevant to them in the moment. For Questers who want a deeper dive into the game system, the Adventure Quest Game Book is a great resource which describes all the standard Rules, Races, Paths, Equipment, Pets, and Powers. Likewise, purchasing Swashers can be a great way to have sword duels with friends & family all year long outside of camp hours.

One important note is that we are working on an updated 2nd edition of Adventure Quest, with the hope that a new 2nd Edition Game Book will be available in the summer of 2024.

We sell Game Books, Swashers, adventuring gear, and other merchandise in our Online Store, and also typically have a sample for sale during our summer camps Tuesday through Friday.

Is there a place where Questers store their bags/belonings?2021-05-18T03:29:32+00:00

For most of our programs, we meet in a public park and so we do not have a secure or centralized facility for gathering/storage. Anything your Quester needs access to throughout the day they’ll need to take with them in their backpacks. However, we don’t wear the backpacks all the time; we travel to an area, set backpacks down, do some questing, and then travel to another area with our packs. Occasionally, if there’s something the Quester won’t be needing at all during the day (such as a car seat that needs to be in a different vehicle at pickup), it can be left in a Majestic Adventures vehicle, but that is not guaranteed, and should be arranged beforehand.

Are you affiliated with the online game AdventureQuest?2020-07-13T23:35:12+00:00

No. They are owned by Artix Entertainment and have absolutely no involvement in our programs, as we don’t have any involvement in their online games.

Should I tip for birthday parties or other events?2020-07-13T23:34:40+00:00

Tips are always appreciated by our Quest Leaders, but they are never expected. Our Quest Leaders are paid better than the average camp counselor.

Do you do any quests during the weekends?2023-02-04T01:14:20+00:00

We can host a Birthday Party or special event during any weekend you schedule one for. Please see birthday parties and events. Sometimes we run Adventure Academy Workshops or a variety of ongoing weekend quest programs. If you are interested in having Majestic Adventures run a Home Quest program for one or several weekends in a row, please contact us.

Do I need to buy your game book (or other books) to come to a program?2020-07-13T23:30:25+00:00

No, but they are helpful for the experienced Quester. Of the various books we offer, the Adventure Quest Game Book should be the first book to buy, as it is the essential book to play Adventure Quest. It describes all the standard Rules, Races, Paths, Equipment, Pets, and Powers. You can order it here.

What should I bring or pack to your program?2020-07-13T23:29:29+00:00

Pack a backpack for your child with a hat for sun protection, a bag lunch with a snack, at least one filled water bottle (two for extended days), a light poncho, warm clothes (for Holiday Quests, as we are outside as much as possible even in the winter!). Your child should be ready with sunscreen already applied. Hiking boots are recommended and give more traction outdoors, but sneakers are adequate. Please do not allow your child to bring candy or gum, pocket knives, electronic games, money, or anything of value.

Do you have a Lost & Found?2022-07-13T20:48:34+00:00

Throughout the year we collect a large amount of items that are left behind by campers. We encourage you to write your child’s name or initials on clothing, water bottles, and any items that they might bring to one of our programs. If you believe that one of your child’s belongings may be in the lost and found, please notify our office staff promptly. We keep our found items at our truck for the duration of the program (eg during the week it was lost at summer camp), after which they are taken to the office. MA promises to keep items in the lost and found for at least two weeks, and if there’s a name on the item, we will attempt to contact you about picking it up. After two weeks or several unreturned phone calls, the lost item will be donated to charity.

Can parents join a quest to see what it’s like?2020-07-13T23:27:55+00:00

Absolutely. If you are curious about what a quest is like, you may join in for an hour or so during the day. Please talk to the Quest Leader and the office about what a good day or time is for the visit.

What is your discipline policy?2020-07-13T23:26:06+00:00
How can you teach non-violence by using foam swords?2020-07-13T23:25:04+00:00
What if I’m late in picking up my child?2023-02-04T00:31:50+00:00

During each pick up, staff will stay late and wait with the children whose parents have not arrived. There is a ten minute grace period for picking up participants at the end of a program. The grace period begins at the time that the program is officially over. The late pick up fee is $5 for every five minutes or part of five minutes after the grace period. Late pick up, if arranged with 24 hours notice, drops to $2 for every five minutes or $24/hour. If a parent is more than 20 minutes late, all efforts will be made to contact the parent including calling the emergency numbers provided on the health form.

If there is late-pickup at a program that overlaps with an extended day option (such as Adventure Club after our Bellingham Summer & Spring Break Camps), we may elect to transfer the child to the extended day program, and automatically charge the enrollment fee for that program.

My quester wants to stay connected in between sessions, can they get their character sheet?2020-04-02T21:36:59+00:00

Absolutely!  Please send us an email and we can digitally send your a PDF character sheet to you for your child to look over.

What is your EIN / Tax ID#?2020-03-13T20:12:43+00:00
